How do I create an internal use promotion code?

I'd like to create 100% discount for internal use only, this way I'll be able to apply it to selected clients, but I don't want clients to use it themselves.

I created one with random characters, but in the promotions page I only see a way to hide it from the catalog but not a way to make it internal use only.

There isn't a way to do that -- if it's random characters then clients would not know about it

But as a staff member you can just override the price when ordering for the client?

I can override the price to 0, but does that change the price for recurring bills too?

You can do both or either - you have two options in the flow

You can either override the recurring price - this is done on the product configuration step

OR you can override the basket, which essentially applies a one time discount
